Petra Ahlmark is a freelance musician, composer and voice professor. She earned a University Diploma in Music (jazzperformance, voice) and a Master of Fine Arts in Music Education at KMH Royal College of Music in Stockholm 1996. She has been performing with and leading bands such as Petra Ahlmark band, New Brazilian Quartet, A Colour of Brazil, Jade, Blue Opera Nights and toured with the soloconcert series " A Tribute to João Gilberto".

Since 2003 Petra is resident voice professor at IMH Ingesund College of Music. There she teaches Advanced Vocal Performance in Contemporary Music and Advanced Vocal Jazz Improvisation. Petra is also an in-demand clinician, leading master classes in jazz vocal improvisation and brazilian bossa nova for voice and guitar students.

BRAZILIAN WINTER FESTIVAL SATURDAY NOVEMBER 26!! 2009 Margot & Tobis Award! During 2009 Petra Ahlmark recieved the Swedish Margot och Tobis Award for her work as a musician in the the field of Brazilian Music.
